Originally from Kansas City, MO, Mario Garcia’s love of music began at a young age and grew into a lifelong passion for guitar, drums, bass, and coffee (not necessarily in that order). Mario has 12 years of musical experience, performing and recording in a variety of settings, from jazz and worship bands to rock and progressive metal bands. That passion for music is what brought him and his wife to Austin, TX in 2019 to pursue their musical careers — and luckily for us — to Sense & Color!
Mario’s primary instruments are guitar and drums, but he enjoys bass guitar and keys as well, drawing on inspiration from musical influences like Tim Henson, Mario Camarena, and Travis Barker of Blink-182.
A patient and encouraging teacher, Mario connects well with students of all ages and believes that learning to play should be fun! Garcia has done away with cookie cutter-type lessons, and takes the time to learn about each students’ individual goals and learning styles, using creative and engaging methods to keep his students excited for music and eager to keep playing.
