Samantha is an Austin native who is enthusiastic about combining her two passions: early education and music performance. She loves working with students of all ages, but has a particular soft spot for our youngest performers, drawing on her training in classical singing techniques to explore a full range of music. As an active performer, Samantha mostly sings sacred contemporary and classical music, but her true love has always been pop music and musical theatre. She specializes in forming strong connections with her students, motivating and empowering them, both in and outside the music.
Samantha’s teaching style in her piano and voice lessons is a blend of FUN and technical training that centers on growing a foundation of confidence in her students. Each lesson is tailored to suit the student as an individual, embracing their gifts rather than focusing on correcting “flaws.” She provides a holistic approach to learning for the student as a person, an artist, and someone with limitless potential. Samantha also teaches ASL (American Sign Language) and loves to incorporate the expressiveness of signing into musical performances.
Beyond anything else, she hopes her students leave their lessons with hard and soft skills they can use across disciplines; confidence in themselves; a life-long, genuine enjoyment of the arts; and the certainty that they have an adult in their lives who believes in their unique gifts. When not in the studio, Samantha can be found singing to animals in her backyard and dancing like no one is watching.
Now, go home and practice!
