So… about that AI phone thing.
A note about our phone number, the weird AI agent, and why it's important to use text only to reach us.
Our main phone number is linked with our scheduling system, which we love since it keeps all of our scheduling conversations conveniently linked to our students’ accounts. But our scheduling system doesn’t work with voice calls, only text—which is why our phone number is text-only.
When we first set it up this way years ago, people calling our phone number (instead of texting) would get a generic error message. But just today, we learned that our phone carrier has added an AI Agent to answer voice calls for numbers without voice capability (like ours).
This AI Agent is not associated with our school, it’s frankly kinda creepy, and we are working to have it removed asap! If you need us, don’t call—TEXT US at 512-817-3663 (the same number that sends you your lesson reminders) to reach our (very real and very human) admin staff.
