Boy records music school recital on his ipad

That’s a Wrap! 🙂🙂🙂 (Exclusive Sept 2023 Recital Recap)

BY KELLER BOYD, AGE 9

Today is another recital day for Sense & Color School of Music! It’s September 17, 2023.

This recital is at Kick Butt Coffee. Kick Butt Coffee offers a variety of snacks and drinks to choose from. The recital starts, people walk up. Music is filling the air! People order food. The food is yummy! So are the smells of the food. The music is good! There is a drum, piano, and microphone on the stage. You may watch the video to see clips of people’s performances. Not many because this recital is only 2 hours. Now you may be saying “but Keller, 2 hours is a while. Especially to a kid!” I get that. But some of the other recitals were up to 5 hours! So this is kind of short compared to the other ones. Anyways, let’s get onto another topic other than this. Well, what would the topic be?

I’m not sure. Might be the end. Kick Butt Coffee is awesome! Just watch the video and peace out!

(Note from Amy: The video below was filmed and edited by Keller. The interviews at the end are particularly adorable.)

Recital recap video featuring interviews with a few members of our school rock band, [Insert Band Name Here]. Filmed and edited by Keller Boyd, age 9.

Recital registration extended to Sept 12!

Registration is LIVE for the following recital:

When: Sunday, Sept 17th from Noon to 3:00PM
Where: Kick Butt Coffee, 5775 Airport Blvd. Suite 725, Austin, TX
Teachers: Amy, Cameron, Chris, Don, Emily, Mario, and Robby
Cost: No recital fee for current monthly students

There is no recital fee for current monthly students!

Each recital has a limit of 35 students, and registration is required! Talking to your teacher about a recital does not reserve your spot. If the spots are full, you may join a waitlist in case there is a cancellation. After registering here, you’ll receive a link to provide more info about your performance piece, schedule requests, etc.

Performance Order

We’ll do our best to accommodate schedule requests, but performance order will be based on instrument and teacher. A couple specific notes:

  • Violin can take longer to sound check than other instruments, so violin students will be scheduled at the beginning of recitals.
  • Our rock bands will perform last, so plan to stay and cheer them on!

An estimated schedule will be sent out a few days before the recital. Please be sure to arrive at least 20 minutes before your section begins.

More Info

  • Everyone is encouraged to perform! You don’t have to be perfect. Ask your teacher if you’re not sure whether you’re ready to play.
  • No RSVPs required for guests. Bring friends and family!
  • Full food and drink menu provided, so come hungry.
  • Dress code is simple: Wear whatever makes you feel like a star!
