ABOUT OUR BANDS
– 1:30-2:45pm Insert Band Name Here (ages 13-18)
– 4:30-5:15pm Rule No. 4 (ages 9-16)

Insert Band Name Here features some of Leander’s top musicians ages 13-18, together for over 2.5 years now, playing original music and covers by Sunny Day Real Estate, the Black Keys, Bush, Counting Crows, Flyleaf, and more.

Rule No. 4 is our newest rock group, ages 9-16, and they put on a fabulous show, covering songs by the White Stripes, the Killers, Hole, Veruca Salt, and more.

ABOUT THE SENSE & COLOR BAND PROGRAM
Our band program is small, with just two bands, but our bands rehearse and play together as a group every week until they graduate or move away – which is why they sound SO good! Each band generally adds 2-4 new songs between each recital, but the old songs stay in rotation, building a full set list for bigger shows over time.

ABOUT THIS SHOW
These March 8th shows are part of our spring recital, so we’ll be featuring solo performances by other students between the bands.

BTW – earplugs are probably a good idea, especially for younger kiddos! We’ll try to keep volume reasonable, but this is a full-on rock concert. 🙂

  Raina is a guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter studying at Sense & Color.

  Story Lane is an acoustic folk/jazz duo featuring Amy Boyd and Todd McKimmey of Sense & Color on vocals and guitar.

  Chris is the very musical dad of our band’s keyboard player, and a professional pop/rock guitarist who plays frequently in the Austin area.

  [Insert Band Name Here] is the headlining rock band of Sense & Color, featuring River McKimmey and Tyler Work on guitar, Miles Boyd on vocals, Jacob Troller on drums, Rory Day on keys/vocals, and Chloé Orovio on bass (bass tonight will be played by Todd McKimmey, but Chloé will be back next show). Come on out and cheer on our rockstar students!

Cherrywood Coffeehouse is a great little eclectic coffeehouse, restaurant, and live music venue in Austin off of I-35 and 38 1/2th St. near the UT campus. Their cute little outdoor stage is the perfect spot for our rock band, so come on out and join us for a night of free music!
