Maizie is a multi-instrumentalist with a passion for songwriting and connecting with others through music. With a background in voice, piano, trombone, ukulele (and currently adding guitar in the mix), she brings a versatile and intuitive approach to music education. Currently she’s only available for voice, piano, and ukulele in our scheduling system, but she can also work with beginner guitar students as well—so if you’d like to book with her for guitar, just text us and we can help with that!
Maizie has a special talent for teaching students how to play by ear while also building a solid foundation in music reading and theory. A dedicated songwriter since elementary school, she’s now pursuing a degree in audio engineering and sound recording. Maizie doesn’t just teach students how to play music, but also encourages them to find their own unique voice and style through improvisation, composition, and performance.
Maizie’s teaching style is flexible and engaging, and she loves working with students of all ages to build confidence while learning and having fun.
Note from the owner on how Maizie came to join Sense & Color: We saw Maizie playing and singing at a local open mic, and immediately had to meet her! She not only sounds wonderful, but you can tell how much she enjoys making music, and she’s excited to pass that on to our students. We’re thrilled she’s joined us. – Amy
